It’s further recommended that we practice social distancing. This is especially important for older people or persons with immune systems that may be weakened or compromised. Practicing social distancing means:
- Keeping 6 feet away from others as much as possible.
- Avoid places where large crowds gather and postpone social gatherings for the time being.
- Limiting hugging and handshakes — everyone understands a simple wave and a smile.
- Staying connected to others but doing it in ways other than face-to-face. Social distancing does not have to mean isolation.
- Being creative — for instance, ordering your groceries online and picking them up.
If you, or someone in your household, feels sick or develops symptoms related to COVID-19 such as shortness of breath, cough, fever, and/or sore throat:
- Contact your supervisor about not coming to work
- Contact your healthcare provider or local health department
